Today's walk.

It's been a while but today was walk time. A path way has been established out of town all the way to the car ferry if you wish to go that far. We just strode for an hour out and an hour back. Lovely quiet walk amongst trees, over freshly bird scratched moss and then onto the board walk through the mangroves of Orongo Bay to the bottom of Tikitikiora mountain an old extinct volcano. Taking a good long walk is one of the joys of life as it brings you down to the elements of the earth, the smalls, insects, plants, birds the list is endless should you wish to cover a lot of ground or just a little slowly. I think Proust got this, didn't finish the book but he definitely got it. We are thinking of doing it during the night as the scratchings in the moss may very well have been kiwi. Wait and see. In the workshop still working on bags, different sorts of seams and finishes, trying to think through the making process. Also made another pair of slippers in bright blue suede. These ones though have a sponge insole and denser waterproof  sole layer of about five mils. Feel good. I think I'll push on with these and see what happens.
