An easy day making bags.

As the title says I've had an easy day. Working on a padded bag for a Net Book. It turned out pretty well but as usual at the end I see improvements that can be made. A previous n-velope for an ipad worked out well too. A simple envelope structure with an interior padding, a dome and shoulder strap. Neat and in dark emerald green with a little black trim. One of a kind. In this big wide world of ours these individually made creations are rare and getting rarer, It's a thrill to be fitting into another production system of small craft operations and turning out one off items of beauty and quality. Take an ipad, a lot of fun sure, a nice tidy modern industrial electronic device design with it's own case, utilitarian, practical..cheap. Give it a container of beauty and the ipad becomes a new joy, the old craft with the new superindustrial assembly. It's easy to forget the nonsense in the world when I work like this but we all have to spare a thought for the people of Libya and other North African Arabic states. The new mothers, the berieved, the sick and the destitute. The hope is that over time their lives improve. The corruption of the everyday life of untold millions of souls is one of the blights of our world, past and present, and we can but watch as the slings and arrows play themselves out. This evening was fantastic, clear sky and warm, ideal for tennis. So we played three sets of doubles and had some fun. This is New Zealand. A wonderful land.
